    Greetings From China (Chinutta)

    Good afternoon gents

My wife and I are currently in China, it is her dads 70th birthday so we are here for that and also a three week hoon around, we are currently in Beijing, and have been to a few places which I won't list cos they will mean nothing but we are going to Shanghai then Yun Nan provence (Li Jiang town) for a week or so.

We have been to some super wealthy places and met some super wealthy people as well as the other end of the spectrum which is a total eye opener.

My wifes family is not wealthy but middle of the road however they give like you wouldn't believe and by that I mean food, accom, warmth and welcoming second to none , we bought them gifts from kiwiland as well but me being a whiteyfoo they treat me like royalty (not used to that).

So, not many adventure bikes (0), I have a photo of a scoota that has "Offroad" on the plate which is a total crackup and is as close as it gets.

You have to be a stuntman to survive the roads here, I like to think I am an ok driver and rider but here I would not want handlebars in front of me in the bigger cities, they are simply mad.

Been to some dodgy places, shifty dudes eyeing me up and down so I do my best to puff up and look tuff behind my dark glasses ... never let them see your eyes for expression cos they case you out in a second and see the fear.

I have a gravitational advantage over them so that is good but you don't now if they have a knife or not so still have to be careful.

Ok, better sign off and carry on our merry way, will clock in again at some stage with an update and put some pics up on our return, only interesting adventure stuff ..... not the 70th oldies party.

    Seeya gents.

More like Nee-how (sounds like that anyway...don't ask me how to spell it).

China is a crazy place. I loved it. The food is a bit of an adventure. The beer is very good. The more I travel, the more I realise how crap NZ beer is.

That's abig yes please for Chinese beer from me.

NZ Beer isn't great, but some of it is pretty OK and for a small amount more you can get some quite outstanding European beer.

I buy that Bavaria beer, which is quite outstanding

    Ni Hao From Bei Jing

    Morning lads

Well we are off to Li Jiang and Shangorilla tomorrow morning before the sparrows fart.

Got my photo taken with the Police on Thursday then fell crook that night, ... thought it might have been Swine (pig) flue (how ironic) but just a guts ache from eating something not good.

Having great fun but will be happy to leave Bei Jing for the quieter hills of Shangorilla for week or so, the noise in Bei Jing physically and mentally hammers you eh.

OK, catch up in a week or so, will upload some pics then when we return to Bei Jing, missin the handlebars eh .

    Zai Jian ( good bye)

    Evening Gents

All settled in and back home now, great trip away but very nice to be home.

Chinutta is VERY VERY noisy, 110 db ringing in your ears all day from cellphone screamers, big speakers at shops, loud halers and horns tooting, mentally buggers you really.

Anyway, great trip, went up to Yunnan Province to Leaping Tiger Gorge, Meli Snow mountains etc at the bottom of Tibet, magic!!

Got up to 4300 meters (14110 feet) so reasonably high, about 2000 feet higher than Mt Cook.

We have buckets of photos, nearly 2000 in fact, I will bore you guys with the petrolhead oriented stuff only plus a coupla bits and pieces.

We didn't get ripped off or arrested so we are really picking things up now, lots of silly shit still happened from a totally disorganized country which is so technically advanced but that all get taken in the stride.

Water Cube, Ellen and I at the Great Wall (or part of the 5000 km long stretch), blinged out scoota and the Scoota with the number plate that reads Cross Country .. v e r y adventure bike looking
