Hey im getting my learners and wondering if this bike will do. I dont need much power http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=250239209
that would be a great bike if you are just doing commuting in the city.. But if you want to do some main road riding, Then a 250 would be more suitable..
Just my $0.10
I reckon that's an awesome deal personally. $1000ish for a 150's really good. And it's not in bad shape... If you wanna move up in 6 months or something you prob won't lose any money from this... and can move on to a hornet or whatever...
Anyways hope you have a great time on 2 wheels no matter what you get... it's pretty addictive!
Hi, this little bike probably would go faster than the Suzuki tu 250 I owned about 20hp.
With mine it was a bit slow on the open road with lots of cars, on a good day (with the wind behind) i could get it up to 90km/hr so had to be on the look out for cars passing all the time and moving over for them slightly.
This was a problem as you could not keep up with constant traffic speed, so to fix this i stuck to backroads getting on to main roads as a short cut to more back roads, even dirt roads which is great for some bike skills.
So depending on where you are riding mostly this should be fine.

Yep, that would be a good choice. Just as much power as a basic 4 stroke 250 and much lighter. I'd recomend it.
Two Stroke, the pinnacle of engine design
Do you realise it's a 2 stroke engine? they are alot different riding than your 4 stroke that you would have done your BHS on...
haha can't say I can talk...I see you have a cbr too...more fun than that (though you do only have the single r model;-))
That bike would be a hoot!

given the rgv doesn't rely on powervalves like the rg does it's less prone to meltdowns. though your not immune to the usual piston wear that is associated with 2 strokes. Ask the owner if he's had to replace piston or rings at any stage.
I had an rg for my first bike, it was great. You will probably out grow it in 6 months but that's no biggie.
go for it I say.
I think I had an RG110 some years ago (I could be wrong).
Good bike. You need to work the gearbox a bit on the hills.
Easy enough to work on.
Looks like good value to me.
Well... someone has to buy it. You're a someone, right?
... and that's what I think.
Or summat.
Or maybe not...
Dunno really....![]()
my lil ol hornet - only 250cc will do about 160kph with my tubby arse on it (not that ive done that being on my learners and all)![]()
