    Air filter modification?

Should i remove or cut the top of my air filter box off on my SV650 to allow more air over the filter? would this make a difference?

What model carby or Injected ?, Generally speaking they make more power with no filter on the Dyno, - but when the bike is moving along the road & the air is whipping past your airbox then often the bike will go slower with a more open system as it struggles to pull the moving air into the engine................

I took the airbox off my 650 vtwin and ran like a sack of shit. It has CV carbs on it though, and traditionally CV carbs hate running while open.
