Post 22 Ride Woes (and thanks to the random escort to auckland)

Good Evening Folks. Action News Reporter Pyrocam checking in with the latest hot story.

To summarise the back story: 19bikes went to hamilton down the 22 yesterday. 18 made it. SurfChick got a flattie 36k's into the ride. (see this post for details)
and on the way back my headlight blew. our bikes slept in Gazza's garage ( again Gazza. ) BJ, SC, Ashley (aka bob aka cager) and MRS BJ (can I call her that hehe) and me went down this arvo after an awesome BBQ

Gazza fit SC's fixed tire and I went down to repco. No Lights!! oh bother. It was still light and SC wanted to go for a spin down the 22 to make up for yesterday so I joined her, our intention was to stop before too long so I could get back to auckland. 40k down and 40k back except 39k back SurfChick's tire deflated again soo sorry for you SC (thats 3 in a month for her now ) we walked the bikes the last bit to challenge to see if we could inflate the tire enough to get back to Gazza's but the tire wasnt going anywhere.

I went to Gazza's again to let him know and he super-kindly got his trailer out and went off to pick up SC. as it was a wee bit late now Gazza recommended I be on my way. It got dark pretty damn quick from there, I did manage to get 10k down the motorway before It was dangerously dark. A biker in black with an open face helmet hand signalled that my light was out and I made the best hand signals back that it was broke but he or she must of figured it out so escorted me all the way back up the motorway into auckland Thank you so much who-ever you are!

Only one car tried to hit me and I got one flash but that was expected. I got home safe around 6:30 and checked in with BJ and SC. SC is getting a tow (she signed up for AA today !!!) back to auckland which is better than my stinky little first $40.

    and thats the news. goodnight.

    Cool

Might be time for surfchick to replace the whole tyre...
    since it keeps going down....

She is gonna make it down 22 one day real soon....
It will be third time lucky.....

Glad you made it home ok...

Take the light bulb out and take it with you when you get another one...
Just remember NOT to touch the actual light bulb (glass bit) with your fingers, when you put in the new one.

Oh man, that sux. Pyro, is the puncture on the tire side or rim side? surely theres a pattern emerging here, nothing worse than trying to find the cause of a puncture...........

    will be doing so tomorow

I think me and SC might do it next weekend, depending on her tire etc.

yeah um. actually. the Tire is meant to be a tubeless tire. AND the tube is a size to big.

Im surprised the bike shop let her go with a repaired tire.

    not cool.
I left SC at the petrol station and havent seen her again tonight unfortuantly. I had to leave before it was TOO dark.
