    Perhaps another point of attack?

Would it be worth getting the statistics regarding rugby (both codes) and their claim levels against ACC?
    Kinda--
    Hey New Zealand whats next?
After all rugby players make $XXXX in claims
If "they" get us then is NZ's national game next ?

IMO it would only be worth it as part of a broader effort showing the wildly uneven system of the current ACC funding streams.

I strongly think that we should shy away from a deliberate effort to say that "someone else" isn't paying their fair share.

That is the root of all our problems at the moment.

This government, and others preceding it, are using ACC as a classic "divide and conquor" mechanism to strengthen what they perceive as their base voting demographic.

ACC is supposed to be a UNIVERSAL compensation scheme. Everytime we let the pollies scare into looking for "some one else" to blame or pick on we are letting ourselves be weakened.

There are a few issues that I believe should cross all borders of political affiliation, race, creed or socio-economic grouping - ACC is the biggest one.

It is not user pays - it was never designed to be user pays and we may be angry as motorcyclists but there is just as strong a case (if not more) to just be pissed off as a citizen.

They're in here, though you may want to include "Touch Rugby".

AD345 maybee i diddn't phrase it correctly--Its not pointing the finger going "they" aren't paying. its the opposite.
The claim levels for rugby are fairly well known so saying "hey mr car driver ---you think you're safe?" Dya think theyre gonna stop there??? -Reach into the hearts of average non biker kiwi's --give em something to relate to

You want to be careful playing those games - they can blow up in your face. If I was Mr ACC I'd turn it around and ask, well we an't afford both so would you like us to ban motorbikes or rugby?

BTW - professional sportsmen pay acc levies but the NZRFU funds its own medical costs and is outside ACC

I know what you are getting at, LOTS of stuff kiwis do have acc accounts that dont balance. I have used this to (quite successfully) turn all sorts of people around.

Even my ancient stepmother realised that targeted accounting would result in HER paying a higher levy, as an 80+ year old lady she drives an elderly small car with no airbags, and is a very high broken-hip risk.

Now she has a BIKEOI poster in her back window. (It blocks her rear view.. but she never looks that way anyway..)

People respond very well to two ideas..

1- That THEY are in a group that doesnt meet all its costs
2- That EQUAL share of costs is fairest
David must play fair with the other kids, even the idiots.
