Angry I'm going to kill Passrite

or someone who would like to represent them...

    The saga so far:
Just over a week ago (late on tues night (about 2100)) I sent them a fax wanting to make a booking for lesson, basic cert then learners ($200). Phoned on thurs morn to check they had got it.

No, they didn't, so I had to send it again. Heard nothing until I phoned again today (had a day off). Yes, we have your fax, no, no places on 7th May. Would you like 21 May. Yeah s'pose, nothing else. Half hour later, get a phone call, "We seem to have 2 forms from you and have charged you twice, but we'll refund the one". We also have you booked at 0800 on 7th. Great. Wait, thats for experienced people. "I crossed that one out deliberately so I wouldn't get booked on it". "So you want to cancel that booking". "Duh..."

OK, we have no other places on 7th. Shall we book you on 21st May? "Duh..." I think they have two people doing this, hence the fuck up. I decide to look somewhere else to see if I can get earlier and with better service... I find a great guy who will cost more, but longer training on 1st May.

Decide to cancel Passrite. "We will charge you an admin fee". "#@$%@#" How much? Don't know. My manager will tell you. ..........but in a meeting, so will phone about 1700....

Now I wait. Poor manager if they want to charge me an admin fee for that circus. We'll see....

But they probably won't phone. That's what they always do (or don't do)...

Does anyone know a good place to do the basic handling skills test in the Upper Hutt/Wellington area? And what are the total costs for getting the learner license approx.?

    Costs would be here

With the Passrite thing, I thought it would be a good idea, do everything at once, reputable place etc.

Still waiting for the phone call... its after 5

I did it at stephen, you do the skills test @ boyraca carpark on sat morning i think

    Stephens Driving School
    Call Free
    0800 425 423

its $140 from memory, thats if you dont have a bike, if you do its bout $30 less. And he has helmets you can borrow. As for learner i booked that myself at aa. BTW the bikes he gives you are crap but very small, light and easy to take around the cones etc.

I did it 6 months ago, needed it a week ago for learners but lost the cert. and he sent me a replacement on the day, was nice to deal with so you should give him a call. also try yellow pages might be more in there.

    just called them...

after a couple of diversions I ended up speaking to ??Bruce?? the manager who was going to look at my "file". Explained the whole situation (including the part that I had found somebody else hehe).

Initially he had said that they don't usually take cancellations, but after the explanation he said "No worries, I'll put it through tomorrow". No charge either.

But I'll wait for the statement to come first to make sure...

I used Stephens too. I hired one of their bikes, and yep, they are crappy little two strokes, but I managed to pass perfectly fine even though id never been on a bike before or even used a clutch.

Best of luck with it all Gremlin!

    Thumbs up all booked

Now I have phoned John Wright and have booked with him at 0900 bright and early on a Sunday morning.

Seems like a great guy, a pom and he says that some of the schools tend to dislike him, but he seems like an honest guy. Any opinions??

It will cost more ($205) for only the lesson (3 hours) and then the certificate but for a complete novice, 3 hours definitely sounds better than 1 hour pump-em-out style...

Since your in Howick you could always try John Wright.

    http://www.honda-motorcycles.co.nz/R...ining_Road.htm

When I did it he did the first time in the saddle courses on Sat and Sun morning.

EDIT: Okay that was just a few seconds too late, oh well.

    John's decent and patient.

I used passrite and didnt have a single problem. Thats probably because I picked up the phone in the first place.
Booking by fax? Pick the most unreliable method why dont you.
I bet if you'd called them in the first place there'd be no problem.

Scuse the vent but I get sick of people who do everything but use their voice.

Good link though, more info than anywhere else I had found. Prices seem a little out of date though...

Wish it was still those prices...

EDIT: Yes the fax was not a good idea, but they sent me the forms, so I figured I had to fill them in, and I wanted to get the forms to them as quickly as possible coz I was trying to get into the 7th May one...

Go moan to John when you see him that Honda haven't updated the webpage. That reminds me I better go ask him if he does CBTA.
