Does anybody have a number for AA Express in Chapel Road??

Looking to book my theory test somewhere, and its nice and close, but I can't seem to find a number anywhere... LTNZ site has an address, opening hours but no number...

Who has sat the test there perhaps...

Booking by fax? Pick the most unreliable method why dont you.
I bet if you'd called them in the first place there'd be no problem.

Scuse the vent but I get sick of people who do everything but use their voice.

I rang them and they turned me away insisting I faxed it to them. I said can't book over the phone, they are like UH NOO TALK TO THE HAND!!

Well that surprises me considering 1% of the population has access to a fax machine.

    HOLY SHIT!!!

If it's not too late already, give Langlands Honda Motorcycles in Masterton a call on (06) 378 8444 OR (06) 377 4521 and ask them for the contact details of the guy that does the Basic Handling Certificate course in the parking lot next to the pet shop, just about opposite Langlands. According to my Basic Handling Cert. his name is Mr. S. M. Hardgrove. There is also a stamp on it saying "The Motorcycle Academy 4518".

The reason I suggest this is, getting to Masterton is a relatively quick trip by train (and a fair walk from the station, or quick taxi ride) and the cost is SO much less. I paid $85 (it may even have been $65, but I'm not 100% sure) and that included bike hire (gn125 I think). And, after you have that, there is an AA on the main street where you can sit your learners theory test.

HOWEVER, this is just the basic handling test, no instruction. I had never ridden a motorbike before, but from driving a car have an understanding of clutch control (not too hard even if you don't really). He gives you a few minutes before the test to familiarise (learn to ride ) yourself with the bike. If you aren't confident that you can jump in the deep end, I would suggest the longer/more expensive course option you have mentioned.

Either way, hope you pass and get on two wheels soon
    Dave.

No, don't worry, I love you! (In a totally non-gay way, of course... not that there's anything wrong with that... *Have I got all my bases covered yet?*)

I think I'll do it that way then, sounds to save some mulah. Having ridden the mighty AG200, and some CBR250RR experience, a GN125 shouldn't be any trouble at all, really...

Well if it's anything like the AA in Manukau you don't book your theory test. You just walk along and fill out the application form. Pass your eye test, pay the money and then scratch the two sets of scratchies.

I did mine at Passrite, both restricted and Full. Never had a problem but I'm sorry to hear that you are.

Bruce is a good guy, ex-traffic cop and all...... I know he's been having staff problems, the admin girls weren't very up to the task when I was last there a couple of months ago.

Hope you have better luck with the next place dude.

I use ridesafe. I found them pretty good, cheap! $50.00 for basic handling course.
