You trying to steal Zed's "Deacon" nomination?
And if it were as easy as merely not having another, I'd've successfully quit by now.

thats 10 cigarettes more than a non smoker a week..... that could be a hundred km worth of petrol for me, or say 100mg more tar in your lungs, an hour of standing around in the cold getting smelly and ensuring a slow painfull death, oh and 10 more butts to add to the mountains of toxin filled, non-biodegradable filters piling up ..........

sorry havn't had a rant at anyone bout smoking recently.......

So I take it your bike's catalytic converter is all up to spec, passed all the emissions tests...

Because, of course, you wouldn't rant about the evils of smoking whilst spewing out vast amounts of carcinogens thanks to our "safe" lead-free petrol... You'd have made sure of that...

I know that my bike and the cars around me are destroying my lungs. I filter down the motorway, ( oh and my pipe is pointed behind me so I don't get that one). I put up with this as riding is a truely enjoyable experiance and they are the roads I have to travel in order to get to work.

I have been known to partake in smoking other substances, again for an enjoyable experiance. when the correct precautions are taken damage to the lungs can be minimised (vaporisors etc)

Smoking Cigaretts however has NO positive externalities of consumption, because I enjoy the above two activities I feel no need to further directly damage my respiratory system.

I like to be able to breath well, taste my food, travel long distances in aeroplanes withou going insane, and stay inside when its cold if I want

But see I can do all of that stuff becouse for me atleast it's not the nicotien that I crave. It's purely stress for me. Am more than able to go long flights without going crazy, unless you don't call Dallas to L.A. to Auckland a long flight. I taste food fine and have quite a pallet if I do say so myself. Nothing me or wolf say will make you think smoking is good and for the most part we agree (or atleast I do) but sometimes it just helps to calm down. Recently riding my bike has calmed me down, even dealing with crap cagers. But, since it is out of commision and apparently will be for a while my stress level has risen and risen and the only thing that drops it is smoking. Not having a job doesn't help stress either.

now, i'm not wanting to be a doomsayer here, but I think its worth pointing out that of all the motorcyclists that get head injuries, there is a significant portion that not only had a helmet on but they had it done up and the damn thing came off in the impact.
The strap really does need to be pretty tight and the helmet the right size to ensure it doesn't come off. Hence, dragstrip riders have very tight and uncomfortable helmets in case they have an off cause they know it'll be a big one.
Anyone out there with a loose helmet really needs to think carefully about how much they value their head.

on the other topic though, I'm glad to see another kwaka joining the fold Debk!

But that 'is' the secret, not having another forever. It's a head thing and you will not give up with your mindset.
