When I did it way back in Medieval times both times I took about 19 1/2 hours, I was handicapped by a small fuel range and some would say by riding a Ducati, there were quite a few people who did it considerably faster
I didn't exceed 120kmh and only stopped for gas, but I had to refuel around every 160-180km
Cheek of his arse most likely
Yeah, my best was on the Beemer in a shade under 19 hours but conditions were perfect and all I was trying to do was finish inside 24 hours. Everyone who has done it has a different perspective about the ride compared with those who haven't!
I don't expect we'll see Mr Random on it, he owns a Suzuki![]()
One moment while I check my book of excuses...
2005, I was on a 250.
2006, I didn't have a bike.
2007, my left arm was in a cast.
2008, I had no licence.
2009, being a bicycle courier for the year left me broker than a broke thing and completely incapable of affording the cost of the event.
2010... we'll see.

Hmmm. 2010. The 24th GC. Good practice for the 25th. Only five more to get my mug!
