    Grand Challenge 2010

Received a link this arvo to the Rusty Nuts Motorcycle Club's latest newsletter.

There's an entry form for the Grand Challenge on 16th/17th October 2010 (see attachment). Most people will have seen posts by the KB regulars on previous GC's but for anyone who hasn't, all that's involved is to knock off 1600km over a checkpointed route in 24 hours or less. Previous entrants have used everything from a 50cc upwards for this splendid activity. As the organisers point out, it's not a race. What they tend not to point out is that it's mainly a battle with your own mind!

Anyway, entries are apparently already being sent in, so here's your chance to get together with your mates and do something that will stretch you a bit more than a day ride round the Coro Loop!

It's been 6 years since I've done one so I thought it was about time to do another, given that I've got another bike and it will coincide with my 63rd birthday. It either shows that I'm still mentally young or prematurely senile - not sure which

    Anybody else keen?

No, that would be 2011 for a 2500Km weekend (+ getting there and back).

I've registered my interest for that one.

roll on 2011 (and all the riding in between)

That'll be a firken good year. TT2000 and SCRR earlier in the year, Long Weekend GC later on, plus all the normal riding

I'm drooling just at the thought of it

    What's the usual winning time?

I won't race unless I think I can be competitive at the front of the field.

If you say either "I can" or "I can't" your correct.

I think you've missed the point entirely unless as I suspect, your tongue has got wedged in your cheek again.

It wasn't fun for a guy on a TL-R who was on one of the rides I was on. He was hallucinating with pain and wisely withdrew. I think your TL might be a bit more comfortable though?
