Leaving it all behind. Going touring for a week.

The tank bag is packed and saddle-bags are secured to the bike. The sheepskin is mounted (no 'sheep mounting jokes please) and the pack will be on the rack tomorrow. Early afternoon we set off for a trip over-nighting in Temuka 6th, Queenstown 7th, Haast 8th, Franz Josef 9th, Hokitika 10th & 11th, Westport 12th and then back to Chch on the 13th via the Buller Gorge.

There will be no thoughts of ACC levies, recession, NZ Cricket or other such depressing things for a whole week. Just riding easy, seeing the country, and enjoying the odd Monteiths Original with some of the West Coast locals.

If anyone in the vicinity of those places on those dates and sees a heavily laden blue Bandit easing up the road, give us a wave or come and say hi if we're stopped.

See you guys in a week. Keep safe. (We will be).

Well, that's fucked the weather for the next week, eh...?

Please take lots of photos to torment us with afterwards.

Be safe - enjoy your trip.

Most excellent! Have an interesting and pleasant journey through those fair and hospitable lands ... stop for the views, chat with the locals ... and above all, just enjoy the ride!

PS - if anyone asks about the two idiot bikers who wanted to murder each other ... it wasn't me or gremlin!

Oarsum (whatever the fook that means...)
Have a most excellent adventure - although perhaps not of the Glen Heggstad variety, where "the adventure starts when things stop going as planned..."
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....
