To those willing to deliberately screw the BIKEOI plan

I just goyt a headsup from a concerned biker
Michael Dobson, has been sending this e-mail round

Here is his e-mail, second post id my official response, forwarded to BIKEOI security and also to our friendly Police insdpector

Read this, then my reply in post no2

    Hello fellow Motorcyclists

I have heard talk that the organisers of the ACC protest ride to Parliament

are looking to park some or all of the bikes at the Westpac Stadium.

Not so long ago a ride to Parliament, went to Parliament.

Last time I checked there was no law against me taking my bike there on the 17th of November.

The truckies drove their convoy through The Terrace tunnel and right through the middle of town.

The farmers even drove a tractor up the steps of Parliament !!!

To slip quietly off the motorway into the stadium and then WALK to Parliament is shameful.

Unless they catch it on the TV news, most of Wellington won't even know we were there.

Tell your friends by e-mail & pass the word on the ride that this ride is going to Parliament.

Don't let someone in a hi-viz vest tell you otherwise.

    Are we (wo)men or (wo)mice ???

    Michael Dobson

PS --- I read that if your bike leaks oil & you are parking at the stadium

then you are requested to bring some cardboard to catch the drips.

What part of "it's not leaking, it's just marking its territory" don't they understand.

    MD[/I]

Michael is pretty well known as a top mech at a certain ex bmw now triumph dealership in town

some people have put a lot of effort into this so it goes off with out us looking like a bunch of fuckwits.

if you are willing to screw up the event by making a tosser of yourself you are obviously happy to screw over your fellow bikers. thanks, nice one your a super star.
can you please do this another day and organise your own ride.

    My Reply

    Mr Dobson

The reason "WE" have been sent to the stadium, is because it is impossible to park as many bikes as we will be bringing to Parliament

The reserved parks at the front of Parliament have been reserved for:

1: Non BIKEOI convoy riders, (wildcards) people who are already in the city

2: The disabled riders who have requested special access on grounds that 150 meters is difficult for them to walk in amongst a huge crowd

3: Organizers and Marshals who have selflessly sacrificed riding in the convoys to ensure that all bikers in NZ get a chance to attend and support

The principles of our BIKEOI is to present a peaceful united front to the PUBLIC of our CAPITAL CITY and to show the public we are intelligent, reasonable contributors to society

    Conditional access to Parliament

On the 31st the parking of a mere 500 machines near Parliament nearly closed the city down, and this is a mid week day not a weekend so many strict conditions were passed on our rally attendance

The logistics of the huge number of bikes we are bringing can only be safely managed with Police and NZTA support and right now we have that support on one condition, that BOTH convoys ride to the Stadium for a mass, safe, and non intrusive demonstration of numbers
It is only a short walk to Parliament and over 20 front line police officers have been tasked with assisting our entry and exit of this very busy portion of our city, and the security of this rally

Do as you will mr Dobson, but expect to reap the consequences of this bitter seed your sowing, because over 5000 other bikers are not in the mood to waste the efforts we have gone to to have OUR say
    Just ride.

How many bikes does the stadium hold ?

Dow you know how many bikes will turn up ?

Do you honestly believe that every single biker in NZ that comes to the protest has read what you have said on the internet ?

Do you believe that everyone actually will do what you say they should do ?

If on the 17th someone brings me michael dobsons bike keys I will pay them $50 and return them to him on the 18th.

It is OK to pluck them from his ignition while bike is moving.

With 1100 in Tauranga on the weekend, this national event is going to be huge

The Stadium can hold shitloads of bikes, there's almost 2 square kms of pavement allocated to us

As stated in the plan, wildcards, and the disabled

Inflammatory bs like that e-mail is just counterproductive to the max
Either we show up as a united peaceful group, or we may as well not bother

Shit like this idiot is dribbling is exactly what Nick Smith and his cronies WANT from us
While every biker in NZ aint going to read this post, enough of them will to pass the word

Bikoi ends with 6000+ BIKERS at parliament - the bikes will be parked at the stadium.

Molesworth and the nearby streets are just too narrow to park that many bikes. Even the 500 odd bikes that were there a couple of weeks ago clogged things pretty much - and that was a Saturday. Molesworth St provides access to the motorway from downtown Wellington. Blocking that and pissing off motorists is not in our interests right now.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

    Is there a second chance?

I hear what everyone is saying, and to an extent agree, however, I believe this is a one shot event.

Once before has this many bikers gone to paliament, 20 or 30 years ago, what did they do? Did it make a differnce?

On one hand, parking in the stadium is doing precisely what ACC is trying for, all you hard arsed bikers have got something to say? OK, just park over here and give me $500 a year, and say your piece.

On the other hand, keep the public on side, I get it!

Either way, people are expecting over 6000 bikes, you'd be lucky if there are 600 KBers reading these threads, that leaves 5,400 bikers showing up that think they're going to parliament, not a stadium, and they don't read "acc levy campain".

Good luck, I honestly wish I could go, and if I could, I'd be going to parliament.

Sorry, I understand and appreciate all the effort going into this, but not everyone of these 6,000 bikers has the same view about anything, except that we are being shafted, and we need to do something about it.

    I am one of them.

Life is a like a box of chocolates; People are like Onions; The key to success is.......

    Fuck it, let's ride!

No body can force an individual against their will, But there are many of us who are trying to make this happen, we want this to work as effortly as possible, for both the bikers atending and the general public that wish to go about their normal busness.
We are not talking numbers in the few hundred, but numbers in the thousands, this will be one of the largest protests in the last few decades, if not setting a new record for numbers.
It will take the Actions of one individual to get the Medias atention by doing some thing STUPID, that will have us all Tared with the same brush, and the Media will probably get their Pin up for MUPPET MONTHLY, but do you wish that person to be You.
As there is more riding on this than just higher ACC Levies, there is also the whole of the Motor Cycle Industry, that is also under attack, from this.
Lets try the peaceful approach first, and not be the Rebels with out a clue.

Truckies came down Aotea, and along Lambton Quay, and blocked Molesworth street, they never took the Tce Tunnel
They were vilified for it, I know I was THERE! I used to drive for JD Lyons, and on the day went for a ride with an old buddy, and hopped off near my office at the corner of Lambton and Bowen
The whole town was backed up till mid day and no one felt kindly to them whatsoever for a long time, and they failed in achieving their objective

The 'farmer' was a National MP and its exactly that sort of shit that means we cant go onto the Parliament grounds, and thats a sad fact

I cant 'make' anyone do anything, but if the protest looks like its getting 'unruly' and the Parliamentary security or Police say 'close the gates' it wastes a LOT of peoples time, energy and money, especially the travelers

For once, think of everyone, not your own fucking ego TOTO, and mr Dobson
