So how much do you reckon it will be when the dust settles?

So after all the protests and submissions and they have gone away and reviewed everything. There is a feeling that the initial massive price hike proposal is meant to make the 'real' price rise more paltable.

How much do you recon it will go up if thats the case?

Are we talking about the increase for the over 600cc bikes only here?

I am aiming for ZERO increase

Or even a reduction once the truth has been exposed

We rolled over 10 months ago whne thay doubled it, im NOT lettine them raise it any further, its unjustifiable

BIKEOI peacfully...then outright revolution if we are ignored

I would hope that I am completely wrong however I suspect that this will all go through as proposed and there will be the possibility of a restructure at a later date.

Especially when they find that revenues have in fact not increased as projected and there are many non-rego illegal riders on the road.

There will be lots of rego suspensions over the winter.

But there's currently a flat rate for all capacities (scooters don't count), so the proposed percentage increase is different for each capacity.

But I'm expecting to pay 100% less after the dust has settled anyway.

This is only the curtain raiser. The real battles start on the 18th.
I don't for one moment expect either ACC or the Government to back off at the first sign of opposition. We are in this for the long haul with the objective of a complete review of ACC structures and charges.

No increase on motorcycle rego's is what I would expect the outcome to be, BUT you watch them move to another forms of revenue collection. Some of it will be quite up front like at drivers license level and others will be more subtle and hidden.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.

50 to 100% increase is my best guess regardless of what we do.

Be careful how you vote. It won't be just us (bikers) looking at this website and these polls.
If too many vote 100% increase (double what you are paying now) then this could be seen as an acceptable compromise by ACC and the government.
The only acceptable increase is zero or negative.

Regarding ACC levies, anything of substance by those in the fore should not be discussed here, online, over the phone...And others too need to think before they open their gob

heres what is going to happen ...

zero increase and a statement that goes something like ...

"after reviewing the proposed increase we have taken all concerns into account and will not increase the ACC levy on road registered motorcycles. however New Zealand can not afford to carry the continued loss due to motorbike accidents. Due to this we have no choice but to open ACC up to competition from the private sector."

We are doing exactly what they expect / want us to do but what other options do we have.
