    People don't seem to be reading the bit where you failed the little beauty first.

    It's the equivalent of waking your significant other up by headbutting them in the face, and then immediately demanding some sweet lovin'.

    It's just not cricket, I'm afraid.

    For shame, madam.

    By your calling your mount a 'Bitch' I assume it's gender is female;

    When did you ever know a female to perform on demand, based on a 'poke' of the starter button?

    So today, the biggest, new blue lovely debut, most important day for me and that bike of mine to perform and she wont start! NO WAY! Not a chance! But nothing would convince her to fire up! I flooded her That cleared, we attempted 3 crash starts, she is not interested at all! Eventually we flatten her battery. I said a short word over and over and over! Then I had tears! How dare this blue thing do this to me?

    This is the only ever in my ownership of this Blue bike that she has NEVER started. Despite all the crap I have had with her, she is a starter! Hence her name really. Not today.

    I did the ride today, Maha pillioned me to the start, but, I could not do the whole ride, I had media/speaker/Heart Children people to meet and liase with at the museum. I had to thumb a lift from someone that was prepared to forgo the ride for me. I found the perfect gentle man.

    So the ride is over, we are home, it went well. I have emptied a bottle of wine and went downstairs to put it in the recycle bin. I walked up to that blue bike, turned the key and hit the starter. You will never guess what happened! Fired into full glory! No worries at all! Right up there, revs up to what may or may not be red line, no problem.

    Forever more, she will now be called the Blue Bitch!

    Anyone else got a story like this?
    The 2nd bike I owned, a TX 650,never gave me any trouble until the day I decided to trade it in.
    That was the day I became an Animist.That bike was inhabited by the spirit of a Japanese foundry worker that fell into a crucible of alloy in a Mitsubishi Zero manufacturing plant in WWII.After the war the metal the plane was made from was recycled and ended up in the engine of that bike.

    Many inanimate objects have resident spirits and the must be placated by the performance of rituals.
    It is not the new oil in an engine that makes it appear to run better,it is the oil change ritual that you have performed that makes the resident spirit more compliant.
