yeah, there's hundreds. But how many would attract a good turn out? (Isn't PETA the nutjobs who want fish reclassifed as sea-kittens?).

I think also that bikers are more forthcoming when the donation is an item (easter egg, toy etc) rather than just stump up some cash ? (I welcome comment on that thought)

yeh, thats them. i was just throwing animal groups out there. plus, peta have done a lot of good in the past.

the charity rides ive done have all been cash donation [$10/bike minimum] and then they have an auction at the end, with goods donated by local businesses.
i think the triumph club ones usually end up with about $5000 or so, as the auctions get really firey sometimes and they end up with a bidding war. i like the auctions cos you feel like youve got a real good deal, even if you end up paying heaps for something. only downside is for those from out of town and getting large items home again. i know one couple ended up having to bid fiercely on a sportsbag to put their winnings in. LOL.

I think it a very important point that Bikers support many charities, and do much for our community.

This year BADD charity is supporting a food run 27th december, donated directly to the Salvation Army at Taupo Motorsport Race track at the BADD 3 Hour Endurance Race as the feature race of the Taupo Road Race spectacular, final round of the SUZUKI NZ International Tri-Series.

We have three meet points at the moment, Tauranga, Napier and New Plymouth all leaving 9am.

If you cannot participate in the group rides, no problem, just bring your food, and same deal.

Bring a can (preferably two of course) of non perishable goods - our girls will put them straight into the Sallies trailer, and in return
