Wow, sorry to hear you crashed.
You're lucky you were able to ride home afterwards!
I'd offer to help, but I'm going to be busy as hell the next few weeks with stuff for uni.
BTW, Tom has come off at least twice when the front let go while braking in a straight line on the zzr... Coincidence? Or is there something about the bike that makes it prone to the front letting go?
Thanks mate.. yes it's nearing the end of semester isn't it. Worst part of the semesterOriginally Posted by erik

Thanks for all your help so far. The repair process is gonna be a slow one this time around. Actually all I need is just the foot rest bracket. And I'll be sweet.
Can't say Ive ever lost my virginity, at least from how is explained in the dictionary (PT)![]()
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.
buggered - here is somebody who is happy he fell off.
geez mate the idea is not to - and certainly not to be happy about it.
wait till you have paid all the bills, see if you are still going yippie
If you say either "I can" or "I can't" your correct.
I'm not happy i fell off, I'm happy I rode away with another story to tell, rather than lying in the ICU.Originally Posted by Lee Rusty
The bills won't be too much. All I need is a little foot bracket. The rest is just cosmetic. Bout $100 (prob $50) max in plastic welding and another 300-400 for a full respray. I can do the prep myself and find parts from wreckers. Will take a couple of months to get the bike looking mint again, but it's rideable as it is so![]()
Really?? Ranzer what were the details???Originally Posted by erik
Maybe its the tire profile they do have a notoriously skinny front end! What is it a 100mm / 60mm?Originally Posted by justsomeguy
Yup, something like that....... but I think rider skill levels also has a lot to do with it.Originally Posted by John
But hey even Rossi crashes...... it just happens........
However I'm sticking to my story of diesel/oil spill![]()

My fault should have been more careful...... the road had an inch of water covering it yesterday.
Bloody slippery today too. Bit weird trying to brake hard with only one brake.
When you brake hard then you only need one brake because the rear is up in the airOriginally Posted by justsomeguy

Rather than looking at it as a "oh well, there was diesel / gravel / a gumboot on the road, it was an external factor, can't be helped." We need to consider what role our observation and riding skills play in keeping us safe.
Mentally it sure feels better being able to put the blame on someone else, but blame doesn't fix fairings or broken bones.
We're all fucked. I'm fucked. You're fucked. The whole department is fucked. It's the biggest cock-up ever. We're all completely fucked.
