It seemed to split up at Cambridge,I think a lot of riders didn't stop.I was with a tail end group, and turned off at Tokoroa to head out to Te Kuiti and home.

I grabbed some pics this morning at the starting line. Will post them when I get home. I hope some of the riders will post pics tonight when they reach their destination! I soooo wish I could have been on the ride!

Just wondering, is there a plan to meet in palmy for dinner somewhere? We are here safe and sound.

Two different people from TV1 called me today about the numbers and leaving time, I suggested they contacted Les, but some how my name was on the list of contacts for the BIKEOI to Wellington. I did say that there were alot of smaller groups heading down in there own time. They asked about the one leaving around 12.30 because they called around 10-10.30ish, so they missed the main ride I guess by then eh?

Maybe they got your details after Saturday?
I have given Lars' details to the guy who called the BRONZ phone, they want to send their cameraman with his bike to join the ride. And they thought it was leaving 6am, but it IS 9AM departure from Sanson!

Lars (Natioanl Ride Coordinator) has asked for all motorcycles to gather at Sanson so the entry to Wellingotn occurs as one big group. (Otherwise join up with the smaller group waiting at Papkowhai, just no 'dribs and drabs'!)

i rode to bulls with the hope of catching the main group, but missed them by about 20 mins. got a photo of a can-am spyder though.
rode on to sanson, and got chatting with a couple of others. one of whom only has one leg, so i was able to pass on the molesworth st parking info. also got a bit of info re the smaller groups... many of them are going to flat refuse to park at the stadium after riding all that way. i didnt bother trying to sway them, as they are going to park by the beehive anyways. all i can say is good luck to the marshalls

Hanne I understood from my conversation with Lars last week that the group was riding down fr Sanson & meeting in Levin with the main group leaving at 10am, (as they will be riding directly past us) I note its not on your first post ?
