Yep I am totally impressed by numbers.
Unfortunately I was also unable to make it down but the fact it was a Tuesday makes the numbers all the more impressive IMHO.
First day back at Parliament after a recess too.

I gotta call bollocks on that one as i got to watch them for a couple of hours... they were just quite relaxed, checkin some bikes out... One of the guys asked me where the toilets where and then commented he was a little wary to go in there because it might contain a group of pissed off hairy arsed bikers... i told him if he got lucky George Michael would be in there... jolly fine chap... so i'm callin bollocks... maybe gave enough of a presence and that's why several bikes started to disappear after a couple of minutes...

I was mighty impressed with the Police there today, they were all very friendly and joking about with us and relaxed about the whole thing, and as a marshal it was great to have them there to step in when they were needed but otherwise generally leave us to organise as we saw fit. Good on them!

Yeah I couldn't believe what time I finally got to parliament. After half past 12. And who said it was only 200 metres from the stadium?!?

And the police were going around checking the legality of all the bikes at the stadium. So some people may have learnt an unfortunate lesson in that regard...

Word is that at Papakowhai they stopped counting at 3000 but reckoned no more than 3500.
At Avalon they stopped counting at 2000 but reckoned no more than 2500.
Why they stopped counting, who knows.
Add to that the hundreds of bikes parked on the streets around parliament and you get 5000 easy, perhaps even as many as 6000, the original expected number.

Thats good, that would probably be because most of them have bikes too but cant be sean to participate!
