Great turn out, and fantastic ride both ways, thanks to the organisers and fellow attendees.
i agree there was a loss of impact with us not riding through the centre of welly through to parliament...but with the number of bikes we had we could not have been able to accomodate the bikes round parliament.Even if they closed the immediate surrouning streets for parking(ie aitken, hill strret and kate shepard pl) I dont think they will ever close molesworth st for any length of time.

Around 5000 riders got to hop on their bikes and ride to Parliament in a very well organised manner because of your efforts. The most dangerous thing that happened for me on the ride was that damn helicopter sneaking up from behind.

Today could have been absolute chaos, in fact I was surprised that it wasn't.

Big pat on the back to all. Be proud of yourselves. Hell of a beginning Folks.
+1 - Last minute decision to attend, what a well run and well represented event. big ups to the organisers and from what I saw the well behaved attendees, fantastic!

As one of the Marshalls directing traffic, I can certainly say that our job was made easier than expected by the postive and well mannered attitude's off all riders who took part.... the numbers far exceeded than first expect and the police expected and we knew parking would be tight but we did it

    BIG THANKS TOO YOU ALL

I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who participated. I think we all deserve a round of applause.

I tried to thank one of the senior Police officer for their assistance. He wouldn't accept.

He in turn asked that I express my thanks to all involved. Stated that no amount of Police training could have pulled off what we achieved. In his opinion, we had done the impossible and totally changed his and many others perception of Motorcyclists. Admitted he was a past rider and remembered only to well the antics he got up to and what his nieghbour's thought of him at the time. Quote, " if this is what motorcycling is all about these days, I wish I could return to being part of it". unquote.

I was also fortunate to be behind several national MP's at the bottom of the steps when the speeches began and can say there were some very worried people. Kept remarking "we cant turn our backs on this" or words to that effect.

I also thought Rick Barkers Tactics behind the scenes were brilliant. He didnt miss a trick and knew how to bait the trap. Set a couple of people up brilliantly.

I know there are a number of MP's very eager to go for a ride with us. The unity we displayed today rubbed off on a lot of people.
It's something I want to pass on to my Grand kids.
