All KLR owners can have a rocky horror..., until they fit the heavy duty and longer bash plate

That sounds like a plan. But where or how did you mount the rego?

You got it. Just screwed it to the side of the mudguard with WOF attached too. Could have stuck it I spose instead of drilling holes...

My rego is under the mudguard. It's now had that much water/mud/rocks chucked at it, it's totaly unreadable. I don't know what the previous owner was thinking, or perhaps he only planned to ride on that tar stuff, on sunny days.

Plate is bolted straight to the back mudguard. I've got away with it so far.

That's where mine was installed by the dealer. Got a $200 fine for 'not display WOF' and $200 for 'not display rego', courtesy of the parking wardens who didn't look very hard - you could see them while standing beside the bike, it's got 300mm clearance there! Wrote a letter saying they didn't see them, included a photocopy of them, and the fines were waived. It's quite common with bikes I understand, so (here) they are sympathetic if you bother to write. Have since moved them to the side of the mudguard, although they can be seen more easily they still get covered in crap.
    Cheers,
    Colin
