Start early to ensure that the car parks are filled by a bike and carry it on through the day as and when bikers come available. May just pan out as a rotated 4 or more hour affair. I've told some who cant make it early to rock up for brunch or lunch.

Don't know if someone is already doing this but...

I have a relatively cheap printing at Massey University, so will print off a whole heap of them flyers tomorrow morning and go and chuck as many as possible at the bike parks that I know of.

Hoping for a great turnout on Sunday falks.

I reckon this is a great idea !

As long as Joe Public can clearly identify that the car is the bike we can no longer afford. Maybe a modified version of the "target" poster in the back window...

"Sorry I nicked your park... if I could afford to register my motorcycle, you wouldn't even know I was here" kinda thing.

Plus, instead of taking a pillion, your normal passenger can double numbers by taking the postered-up car.

So a 9:30am from BK Whangarei to park-up in Mission Bay for early lunch to keep the parking filled up could be the plan for us Does that work for ya plans Mum & Maha? We'd have ta leave Whangarei 5:30am ta make Mission Bay by 8am.

Just playing the devils advocate here......

But will this thing backfire and undo some of the good work done by the bikeoi? From what I have seen and heard, most people support the stand that has been taken by the motorcycle community against ACC and the proposed increases. However, if we start screwing with Joe Public's day to day activities, most will just get pissed off and we risk losing their support.

Everyone has the right to park there on their bikes and I'm not suggesting that it shouldn't be done, but I don't see this being an overwhealming PR success. It would be a shame to have someone get stroppy about this in front of a TV camera and have bikers look like dicks because of the spin the media will undoubtedly put on it.

I hope I am wrong (it is 1.30am so I probably am) See you all on Sunday!

What I am hoping to achieve on Sunday is to actually educate Joe Public about wht is going on under their noses while the government have got this wonderful angry biker smoke screen in place.

Interestingly, the press for this one seems a bit more positive than the one to stop people parking at Westgate Malls http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/ar...ectid=10610482.

I was going to pull the tranny on my bike to fix the dodgy 2nd gear but
we need as many bikes on the road as we can muster.
With all the protest action I have decided to fix after all the protesting is over
    or winter whichever comes first.
Anyhow count me in ,Im keen to do every protest I can..
    See you all there..
