I think you'll find that "those fuckers" would be more receptive to our cause than Mission Bay's regulars. Having a bit to do with "those fuckers" I can say they are already aware of the planned ACC rego hikes on their cars, of the government's plans to sell off assets, and of the added strain and pressure this will place on their already stretched budgets. More than can be said for the blue ribbon brigade.

Yes, I realise you were being light-hearted. Just saying is all. As you were.

The unfortunate reality is that more people in Mission Bay are likely to be voters and politically active (especially in the National Party) than at the Otara Markets.

If we want to influence the decision-makers, we need to be at Mission Bay.

Heh. Seems we both received the same memo instructing us to be ernest.

No need to go there, the 'Otara Warlords' are coming to Mission Bay.

Maha was kind enough to suggest just now it could be a bit like the Telstra Clear gathering

I think I am going to start sucking throat lozenges now in anticipation

+1 - eg a fat lot of good came from a passive $9million referendum on the anti-smacking law

Anyone sorted a PA? or at least a megaphone?

I'm guessing we've invited Phill Goff again? (but maybe he could do a different speech? - I've heard about his three bikes a couple too many times now! lol)

    And what's there?

Well, at the first, the electorate office of Allan Peachy National MP . At the second, Murray McKinnon his electorate agent.

If he ain't at his office (on a Sunday????) it isn't of much value.

I also subscribe to the too many cooks theory.

Many others have good ideas but it is probably better to leave them out of this thread now. Save them for a new thread for the next one.

I'm quite liking Quasimoto's thoughts regards a concerted effort to further win the public over with a 'see me, feel me' approach to set them in the right frame of mind to absorb our warnings and messages regarding where we believe the govt is heading with the fattening up of ACC reserves via increased levies across the board... rather than re-typing I'll quote my earlier post...

Make much ado about the fact that ACC has an 11 billion$ reserve... I really liked that 'he's no trout' Professor's explanation of how they propose to fatten and re-brand the ACC as an 'ACC Insurance' cash cow with a 24 billion dollar reserve and govt guaranteed income stream, for sale to the highest bidders.

Make a big deal about how everybody's earner premium is going to increase along with other selected risk groups as well. That'll piss the public off (pissed with the govt).

What an underhanded way to raise funds and enslave the taxpayer eh? Wouldn't it be more honest to just go and borrow the hundreds of billion$ they want and enslave the taxpayer in the usual open and transparent manner as has historically been the case?
Political correctness: a doctrine which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd from the clean end.

Am working a PM Shift tomorrow so 5:30am Sunday may be too fucken early for me. After Maha post I might as well forget it and go straight to Pohu as it will be all over by the time I get to Mission Bay. Hope the Protest goes well for them.

A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"
