Welcome aboard. I take that you stand with both feet firmly on the ground in your beliefs and vision of the Greens. I also applaud you for coming on KB. It is a diverse community with looks at life that covers the whole spectrum and then some. But clearly there is one thing we all have in common: bikes, so you will fit in easily.

I did start a thread just last week asking why suddenly there is an influx in new posters. Perhaps there is a realisation (as a result of the stand against the proposed ACC increases) that if on here, one can learn things that are not that obvious in other places. Discussions tend to be straight to the point and there is very little moderation going on.

This could easily become a way to increase the support for someone who talks the talk and walks the walk w/o BS. At the same time, someone who was trying to misslead the KB crowd would soon be a marked man.

    All the best.

EDIT: I just noticed that you have been a member on KB since 2006... and suddenly you are becoming active. Sorry, I am just a very sceptic person.
Thanks for the welcome, Conquiztador. As you have noted, I first joined KiwiBiker in 2006. Although I have not been conspicuously active (i.e. I don't post much) I have visited the site often, and spend a lot of time browsing the forums.

I have also been on several KB-organised rides and met such illustrious fellow members as Big Dave, Ixion and, possibly the most famous of all, Skidmark.

My partner (known on KiwiBiker as Klingon because she began as a pillion on the back of my bike) is also an active member of the forums.

I can understand your scepticism at the influx of new members to the site, and politicians newly identifying themselves as bikers. Having ridden motorbikes since I was 15, and spending many happy weeks each year touring our country on two wheels, I believe I qualify as a genuine biker and a genuine member of the Kiwibiker group.

    Thanks again for the welcome.

    Dave C

LOL! That's just about funny enough to get me to vote green...... but only just.

He'd post more but his partner won't let him have the keyboard.

Does that make him a klingon?

Ha! Actually that is very close to the truth! Except now that he's an MP he's going to start using his very own taxpayer-funded keyboard!
There is no such thing as bad weather; only inappropriate clothing!
