The pics were taken well after the bin. The road was really before. It's a wonder that nothing major happened and we were really lucky that he came off where he did instead on on Scenic Drive where you either go smack into a mountain or down off the cliff.............

Don't think the oil caused the spill, the road was slippery enough without it.
(not a Dig at you Zaph)
Ive heard the oil causes a few accidents, I always wondered how that comment can be made so definately when a crash was more likely caused by rider behaviour not "the illusive oil", I think oil is a easy out, take it like a man and admit you fucked up.
I did ,I fucked up on Sunday !!!
I was at 100 kmph between Tauramanui and Kiratau junction it was cold and had been raining, the sun came out and we were into dry roads, so I picked the pace up to about 140 kms I saw a 75km corner and slowed to about 120 and turned into the corner and FUCK !!!!!! the corner was wet and Glassy !!!!!

I had a serious OH FUCK moment. I rode through it and came out the other side and gave myself a serious bollocking !!!!!
WT was behind me ( I was directing) I was being a silly pumped up dickhead for a moment and it could have been easily a serious crash.
Point is, I think if you fuck up say it like it is, that way we can learn from it.
I dont think its right to put the fear of the "illusive oil" into the heads of other bikers, cause its rarely there.

Zapf Im glad your okay mate and I hope its not to long before youre back on the road.

If anyone is wondering why Im being so serious I know of about 5 people who have come of this weekend and I really think its fucken lucky no one is seriously hurt. Im a bit sobered up about it all and I think we should reflect abit and take a reality check about what we do out on the roads.

I never said I was a saint either.

I dont know what WT did, I spoke to him about it and he didnt have the issue I did, but he may have read the corner better than me, and if not he is a better rider than me anyway.

Im about to get my upper cowling brace wleded soon as well... should be able to weld it... Then im going to get mine powdercoated... Otherwise im going to get a trick stainless steel one from the UK...

How did the frame sliders hold up???

ONLY $100!!!??? Thats cheap as chips, CBR1100XX cost $247 (just for the lever...)
ok thanks. I am having trouble taking the front fairing off and don't know how to take the rear one off... think I might give Kerry a call as I hear he has done some plastic welding in the past?

did you have to disassemble the entire front end to get the cowling brace out? as I might just glue / kennit (spelling) it. $$$ is not exactly plentyful after buying the bike...

why powdercoat it? did it need to be sanded back to have it welded?

and are you leaving the fairings plain? or are you getting stickers for it?

I've got a crowbar here that might do the job. Leave the gixxer outside work and I'll sort her out for ya.

Sounds like hard work. Might be a good excuse to visit Mt Eden for one of their bling miracle unbreakable blades that everybody raves about..

I disassembled my entire front end, because my entire front end was fucked...

Im going to powdercoat it to cover up the welds...

Ive bought stickers for my fairings... they are reasonably priced...

its on my hip... it was actually from the tumble.... I won't be trying the tumble next time... luckly I had good hip padding in the suit.

I think the aero hump really help my helmet to not touch the ground as well.
