mate what a slippery weekend, went out to kimmys on saturday to run the new piston in, it showerd a bit and the mx track got REAL slippery,
also did the ngatea school trail ride today which was a bit of hard work in the rain on the steep grassy paddocks, lots of people getting stuck. i found it quite fun.
for some reason my bike boggs down low after replacing the piston, might have to have a fiddle with the carb![]()
SHE LOOKED UP AT ME WITH BLOOD IN HER EYES
THEN HER SKIN FELL OFF
AND SHE PROMPTLY DIED
IT WAS EBOLA, LA LA LA EBOLA
Yeah flying CR, I've done this Ngatea School South Rd ride before and was expecting some fairly strightforward stuff. But woah, she's steep and v slick. Heading up that first real steep paddock, the big camber change on those zig-zag switchbacks was pretty tricky. I slipped off the track first time up and had to sleaze my way up across the sheep ruts, found there was actually more traction in the grass!
A pity they started closing off the red bits early but we carried on and had a blast (We were already on it, we just had to open and close a few gates). Thought it was very neat being high up and riding in the mist. There was that pine section with thick mud mixed with pine needles that was very hard case, like a riding a snake on a skating rink the whole way up.
Really liked that long climb from bottom of a gully in a native bush section (It had a right turn, then left across some rough stuff, then straight up). I watched Chris Power fly up there with front wheel off the deck most of the way. Bloody impressive skills that man.
There was a hell of a lot of moisture in the air yesterday flying CR, Mine was quite burbly off the bottom too. I was too slack to fiddle it but probably could have done with a tweak on the air screw? Us smokers need to start moving to summer jetting now.
I was second bike through first run around and it was slippery but easily managable. The forest section was awesome, slippery pine needles but good power sliding fun. The second time around was a totaly different story...a few hundred bikes made it bloody difficult and the stock metzeler 6 days tyre did not shed mud very well! Have to say it was one of the most challenging charity type rides I have been to.
Sweet, good choice of mine not to go![]()
