Just take out the spark plugs, they're the root of the problem.

Those fixtures look a bit temporary Joe, they'll prolly bow out the first time you crack the throttle. Better if they are hose clamped around the outside of the tubes

I did this.
Has lasted about 4000k's so far. But you need to use decent stainless mesh. I blew out several lighter mesh's before I found the right thing.
I have been riding around several dry areas, and at times to see rural fire officers, and they seem to be OK with it. This does not mean everyone thinks it is acceptable however. So far no one has not been happy with it.
okiesattempt, hows this one boss man...

Just had a new knobbly fitted to the front wheel as I was finding my half worn TKC80 a bit iffy. Also have a new pair of brake pads ready to go in as when I pulled the wheel off I discovered there wasn't much life left in the pads either.

If you PM me I'll stick your name on one and just pay $10 if I can hand them to you at the Friday evening gathering or Saturdays prize giving.
$15 if pack and post is required.
Eddieb, I'd just get some of the above mentioned CRC Brake Clean (woops, I've cross threaded so to speak). Make sure you give the new pads enough km to bed in before hitting the tricky slopes so as you get some feel back in the lever... you probably thought of that already aye.
