Was thinking about this the other night, when reading about protests taking up car parks.

Immediately congered up a wonderful image of a couple of hundred bikes doing laps of the main drags in Auckland City. All moving, all totally legal, just bikes everywhere.

Stop now and then in a car park, then leave, just as another bike comes up and takes your place.

Could make 300 bikes look like 30,000.

Bikes on every road, at every intersection, in every on street carpark.

How cool would that be?

There's a kazillion things that we could do, all being effective protest actions.

It's a council thing... requires a new bylaw


“22AB Road controlling authorities may make certain bylaws

“(1) A road controlling authority may make any bylaw that it thinks fit for 1 or more of the following purposes:

“(a) controlling, restricting, or prohibiting cruising, including (but not limited to)—

“(i) specifying the section of road or roads on which cruising is controlled, restricted, or prohibited:

“(ii) prescribing the period of time that must elapse between each time a driver drives on a specified section of road for the driver to avoid being regarded as cruising:"
