    Smile RGV150 Oil

    Hi,

Question about RGV150 2 Stroke oil. I have no idea what oil the previous owner used (and neither does he), and it's had a recent rebuild.

Is it possible to ID the oil by looking at it? I'm guessing not. It's green in color (Reminds me of Castrol TTS that I used to use in my RG150 (first bike)).

I read somewhere on here that it's not a good idea to change 2 stroke oils?

So what do I do? Do I just chuck some Castrol TTS in it or what?

    TIA

all the mainstream MOTORCYCLE oil manufacturers make a suitable oil - buy yourself a 4l pack of a semi or fully synthetic injector oil from your local bike shop, and keep 'er topped up.

( Suggest you dump whatevers in the tank just in case you're right, and it IS dodgy, and bleed the system afterwards of course )

Ive been told not to change 2 stroke oils unless you bleed the old one first as they can turn to jelly or something like that - Although in saying that I have been naughty before and mixed them with no ill effects (I just waited till it was very low first) - The Castrol TTS I use seems to be more blue than green
