    Christmas Parades

Entry for most town's Christmas Parades close very shortly.

It costs nothing to enter a parade, if 20 bikes take part in every town through out New Zealand - we can spread the ACC message in a non confrontational way.

I will start the ball rolling :

    Tuakau, 3pm Dec 5th
    Pukekohe, Dec 6th
    Waiuku, 2pm Dec 12th

If you can join me in any of these parades please PM me.

Hey now, this is a great idea. A nice friendly way to make a point. Wear your fluro vests and your protest shirts and ride slowly past a whole pile of people letting them read the message. Pity we dont have one up here really. Hmmm... So guys where are the other parades?

I reckon older vinatge bikes would look better, just the sight of high powered sports bikes just doesn't look right to me at a X-mas parade. But still not a bad idea at all.

I took my kids to the Orewa xmas parade last weekend. Lockwood Smith was a passenger in a nice Merc 500SL and stopped mid-parade 2 feet from me. I thought of telling him my feelings on ACC, but decided that it wasn't the time nor place. It didn't feel right to politicise an Xmas parade, and I'm sure others in the crowd would have felt the same way. There were a few bikers in the parade, collecting for some charity or other, but none wore the ACC protest vests or signage of any kind. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the organisers of such parades would be overly happy about it, tbh.

I seem to recall last year that the Falun Gong (sp) weren't allowed to be in a big city parade because of the political overtones even though they weren't protesting about anything. Just an observation.
