Sorry:
1. If they stop riding, they stop crashing (percentage-wise). (Unless they all go to the track.) ACC don't care if people stop riding bikes.
2. Unless they sell the bike overseas, someone, presumably, will still be paying the fees for the bike. (Unless the buyers all do the "I won't pay my fees" thing.)
Measure once, cut twice. Practice makes perfect.
registration.
i understand that the fine for operating an unregisterd vehicle on the road at the moment is an instant fine of $200. correct? and if contested in court that fine can be increase to a max of $1000. correct?
so.
If I have a bike that has a current W.O.F. at the time of the no reg infringement, and imediatley go and register that bike on that day, then take the recepit for said registration to the nearest police infingment office.
Have I not then got a reasonable reason for the infringment notice to be revoked?
As by doing this I am complying with the letter of the law, as I then have a registered vehicle for the date of the infringment.
This has been tested in the past by myself and others and works.
Thus in the past 5 years, I have only had to register my bike twice, for three months each time, as I have only been stopped twice for this offence.
I always have a current W.O.F. on the bike for this to work.
The savings are not hard to work out.
But, on my side is the fact that I live in a rural area, I would expect that in urban areas this would not work as well. As I am nt in the face of the traffic enforcment as often, neither do I have to worry about parking wardens who have a nose for unregistered vehicles.
To be old and wise, first you must be young and stupid.
Its not just the cops though, the council parking wankers can also (and they do) hand out tickets for no rego. So not so good for us city dwellers.
FINE. This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
