This could help and especially with more support.
The Candor Trust (anti drunk/drug driving charity) and another agency is putting in a complaint to the Human Rights Commission that the present policies (pathfinders which requires only 2 or 3 safety issues to be addressed (among them is mc's)/greatest enforceable risk (prevents significant action on any other fronts than speed, alcohol) and the RAM computer model (tries to link quotas to trauma reduction) are experimental and causing increased trauma at such a great rate the ACC is struggling.
Policies known to injure or kill actually breach the right to life enshrined in legislation, and it is also naughty under the human rights legislation to test road safety policy on human subjects without consent - especially when the Dept has admitted its a high risk strategy. Non consented transport safety research has been going on at a great rate here - and we reap the results.
A complaint was already made about this to MFATS universal periodic review of human rights for the UN but they edited it out of the final report. Some significant conflicts of interest may be why.
1. MFAT is involved in set up of the global police control agency Roadpol in Wellington and its calling card is offering the second world the great gift of NZ road safety - police teach the peasants how to get big ACC bills if only they had ACC
2. MFAT staff and MoT board members are on the board of the alleged NGO Transparency International - which just announced NZ as the country perceived least corrupt. Evidently in no short measure due to TI's above and beyond efforts - like members having reach to keeping our complaint out of highly sanitised UN reports!
So back for a second crack we go in the hope the Human Rights Commission will prosecute or whip into shape NRSC, MoT mad scientists, NZTA liars and Police implementers.
How will this complaint hopefully help as part of wider strategies?
By throwing the emphasis off short term fixes that scapegoat mc's and on to the real maggots in the woodpile.
It should suggest to Government that forward movement on both ACC and the road safety plan for the next decade must freeze until the core problem is explored.
If you would like to add your support and name to this complaint to come from CT and associated concerned citizens by name (strength in numbers) please PM your name and location (street and area best if able) to me by Thursday. Final version not ready yet - it's extensive and prolly boring but the above is the jist.
