Got pair of Exustar black boots sitting in the garage if you want them just sort out the postage or come and collect em. Right one needs a new little zipper thingy but otherwise in really good condition and will give good protection. PM me if you want, size are about a UK8.5.

Yeah but so long as you wear a helmet you can ride in your undies if you want. Tax collector was overstepping his powers and heading towards the realm of harrasment. I have lost soooo much respect for the tax collectors even before the blow on ya pie incident.

    Fair point.

Then you need to make boots, jackets, pants and gloves legal requirements also.

I can appreciate his sentiment, but its personal choice, and it is not his place to question the rider.

I hear ya, its an old lemon that does the rounds......

Perhaps they should be. Perhaps those without the gear pay for their own skin grafts themselves.... those with the gear are fully covered.... perhaps.....

Fuck, you should have heard the howls of protest, when I suggested a sliding scale of cover, depending on cover. This was a few years back. But we haven't moved on from that 'live and let live' attitude.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

I'd rather have a police officer warn me that I should get better gear to be safer than have all gear legally mandated and get fined for my gear not having the appropriate safety standard tag.

It is also better that people that don't wear the gear get advice on what they should do - that way they can make an informed opinion on whether to get better gear or carry on as they are and take the risk. Why criticize the officer for giving advice and a warning? Better that then giving out tickets to do nothing more than collect revenue.
