Pulled over for the first time!

I had a feeling it would happen as well.

Was heading out of Hamilton toward Cambridge on the worlds most boring stretch of road. Happily going along at a 100 following the cars in front. I see a cop come the other way and i check my speed. Only doing 80 now as the cars had slowed down in front so all good. Then a passing lane comes up. I sit back for a few seconds then decide to overtake the cars. Pull out and speed up doing about 120 on the speedo and i see a car in the distance behind me also overtaking. Had a feeling it was a cop and when the passing lane ended i began to slow down. Then i check my mirrors and see the discos going

Pull over and jump off the bike.

    Cop: Blah blah blah shoes
    Me: err what?
Cop: Why are you wearing tennis shoes?
Me: Just haven't got my boots yet...
    Cop: Got ya licence?
    Me: Yep here ya go
    Cop: Wheres ya rego?
Me: Just here behind the exhaust
Cop: Count to 10 *shoves fancy gizmo in my face*
    Me: sorry?
    Cop: Count to 10
    Me: One...
    Cop: *takes fancy gizmo away*
    Me:
Cop: You were doing 110 slow down a bit
Me: Will do thank you sir....

Strange experience i must say. Learnt my lesson though. Find a better way into cambridge

Had a feeling it was a cop
he was just helping you perfect the 'spidey sense'...
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

So you got stopped, the cop commented on your poor choice of safety gear (a point hammered home often on this forum-to wear good gear), he checked for alcohol (as required to do for all stops) and gave you a warning for 110km/h.

Don't get the point, what the hell is there to complain about? He was doing his job.

Lightbulb Investing in Boots is a Good Idea

One of the reasons we wear Boots is to ptotect ankles in the event of "an off". A pair of lite walking boots would probably do the trick.
Big Bikes in Hamilton is closing down 25% discounts on all gear at present.

Sure he didn't want to know where you'd bought your shoes? Or if they were on special somewhere...... ????

The rest was probably just a cover up

Might go check them out. Otherwise im gonna stick with 1 Tonne. I actually rode past Big Bikes on the way home after getting the tags so wish i had known earlier! Silly place for a bike store though. I was actually looking at Cycle Time and thinking how silly it is for a bicycle store out there

You finished by saying you would find a better way into Cambridge.

Why do you need to do that, unless you are complaining?
