My post incorrectly referred to E-09s rather than my much more street oriented E-08s.
I drop my tyre pressures by about a third when in gravel. My Anakees respond well to this, probably due to the more flexible radial carcass, but the E-08s don't. I know there's a view that lower tyre pressures can make the tyre float over gravel, rather than bite in, but it works for me. And I've heard that the E-08s track better in gravel if you reverse the front tyre, but I haven't tried that.
The main issue I have with the E-08s is that the compound is just too hard.
Cheers
Thought that was a high mileage from E-09's
I love the compound of the E-07's. As they get balder there's just more rubber touching down and more grip (apart from in gravel).
It's only in mud that the E-07 isn't so good.
If you don't ride in the KTM end of the rev range the E-07 is a sweet rear tyre.
I'm going to give the Shinko 705 a go next instead of the E-08.
These will work well with the DRPig....
Thanks again for the heads up....
I just have to wait for them to arrive now...From the deep deep south![]()
I guess you missed this thread on ADVRider.
But then again I guess a 990 could probably do that to any tire... and so could the BIG.
Look forward to seeing how it goes as they look like a slightly more agressive version of the Metz Sahara 3's.

The owner of those photos admitted riding at over 200km/h for about 200km or so. I'm not surprised!
Sorry mate, was not meant to be a wind-up (well it kinda was), but I knew you would go and read that thread and find out the truth.
Like I said, I look forward to seeing how they go as I did like the Saraha 3's and they look like they are slightly more aggressive which would be good. And any adventure tire that can handle 200kph for an hour and not expolode and kill you gets a tick in my book.

Early or later? Doing a bit of a tour first of after then?
