So today is officially the first day of summer...
So where's the summer weather then huh? Cloudy and humid and generally manky here this morning - again.
Fuckit, I'm going riding anyway...my skin's still waterproof

I actually enjoyed my ride in this morning and even felt quite nicely awake when I got to work. No friggen wind and I only had to blast my horn 3 times this morning due to my 'invisibility'!![]()

Yep it's pissing down here in Wellington. Damned Gorebull Warming.
I like the extra sun in the mornings! Makes me wake up sooner.

Ermmm probably not the best decision of my life that - turns out we don't have summer here yet - we have monsoon season instead....
"Will I need the wets over the top?" I asked myself before the ride. "Nah - its only overcast..."
Ha fucking ha. Hadn't gone far and ran into some of the heaviest rain for a while. Being a typical procrastinator, I didn't bother to stop and get the wets on - they are a pain anyway, so I just carried on regardless. And was soon wet through - boots filled up specially when I had to slow down in the 50k zones. Then the jacket vents started to admit water and then it ran down inside the jacket and thence down inside the trou (brrrr!). By which time it was "Arrr fuckit too late now"
Now for three days of drying out the gear...
But the ride was fun anyway despite cars without lights emerging from the murk every so often.
Moral of the story: Put the wets on before you leave.
