Gutted...this sounds great, but it just happens to be on my birthday, so the parents will likely want to come to Auckland and shout me dinner...

I've changed my brake pads and oil and filter before...but still don't feel like I know much about these things...can't wait til the next one.

Kerry said it wont be a problem.. just personal preference.. Whats your thoughts?
I know I'm not Death, but I've got an experience to share...I think much of it depends on what the standard size tyre for that bike was. My CBR250r was running a 140 rear when it should have been a 130...and it was crap when riding on the edges, weaved and had little grip...reason apparently being because the tyre is squeezed up more to fit on to the rim which is too small. Changing down to the recommended size made the bike steer like a dream (relative to before). So if the TL is meant to take a 180 naturally...should be way better. Aside from the rim size thing though, going to a smaller tyre should provide less resistance on turn in and the bikes should be less reluctant to change direction.

I heard that Macadams are old tech and really crap though. Good luck

I'll be there Frosty.. Kerry just put a new tyre on the TL tonight.. trying a 180 instead of a 190.. Michelin Macadam

Hmm, should have realised that I needed to clarify that in this case I mean girlfriend as in she is female and she's a friend.... but hey, don't let me intrude on your fantasy...

I will try to make it, don't see why I can't. Can only get there at about 8:15 though. I have uni till 8:00.

Thanks Frosty for organising it and Thanks to Kerry for letting us use the place.

I wonder how many bikes we can fit in that place??

No, no the clarification makes the testosterone pump faster (not mine though cos Mrs Ixion wouldn't approve. And I got into enough trouble with that cloud, I'm not looking for any more) . Cos it means that there'll be two *heterosexual* chicks along. And no mention of fella's accompanying them

Even with the masterful training of my mentor I feel a disturbance in the force compelling me to attend.

to learn, I must go, for ignorance leads to hate, hate leads to speed, speeding on an unmaintained bike leads to a nasty accident involving a wookie

Yeah the macadam is a bit old in the technology but is still a good tyre none the less, for a sport tourer. Plus it was well priced
TL1000R is a sports tourer? I always thought of them as a bit of an animal. If you're confident using the Macadam though, by all means.

Let us know how it feels using the smaller tyre though, please? Grip, handling and stability? It would be good to know for future.

    Cheers
