just thinking about it, that would be a farken fun project, imagine how much fun you'd have on a track with it, a nice set of sticky tyres and you'd probably be able to get pretty close to your 260, probably not very safely though![]()

Glad to hear you're on the mend. Last time I was through that way, there was a still a good bit of clay on the road from where you'd made the acquaintance of the bank..
We're all fucked. I'm fucked. You're fucked. The whole department is fucked. It's the biggest cock-up ever. We're all completely fucked.

That's a damn shame man! Shit you'r a great rider but unfortunatly some of us have to learn some lessions the hard way. Remember me and my stupidity for running a rear tire with wires showing through at rather high speeds? I was lucky to have gotten away with it and I guess you weren't lucky this time round. At least this will teach us all to respect the importance of good rubber on a bike, specially the front wheel.
Anyway, hope you heal fast and it's good that the insurance paid out. I was affraid that they might not because technically they could have said that the front tire you were running didn't comply with WOF standards, therefore no payout. But it's good to hear that this was not the case.
Hope you get back on the saddle asap when you are all fixed up.
Bloody hell mate bad luck, at least you got the bike back thats pretty cool - so you can sell that and get your excess back woot
So in other words a full new bike without much loss, and minimual pain, hope you mend up soon, and then go get a nice white ZX6R.![]()
Well the front tire was actually warrantable! It had a good 2 or 3mm worth of tread left... The rear was OK round the sides, but was pretty warn in the middle from commuting (and the previous owner)... But I think the problem was that they were old rubber and was getting a bit dry. Now in hindsight I should not have been pushing them, but I had never had any problems with them in the past so I thought they must be fine! AHH well...
Definitely need good rubber! It’s the only thing keeping you from the ground!
sorry to hear bout your crash, atleast teh injuries are not too serious and your head/back are ok judging by the photos you took the fall prety well yourself compared to the bike.
Get well then get riding![]()

i'm gonna do it, i'm hooked on this idea now, once i've saved up the 5 or so grand it will cost to build i'll make a kart out of a superbike engine, be a good project, but probably won't have time to do it for a couple of years
Hehe I'm keeping an eye on some virago parts on trade me at the moment. It comes with the engine, tranny, tank and tires and a half adoze little bits. I dont need most of it but I plan on using the engine and tranny for either building myself a nice little 250cc chopper or a dune buggy.Originally Posted by gamgee

Just wondering...
Were you wearing motorcycle boots or normal shoes?
If you were, aren't they suppose to protect you from this kind of injury, at least a bit anyway?
If you weren't, do you think it would have helped?
thanks
So what will the next bike be??? Don't you dare say a Goldwing!!!
Did the insurance company pay out fully? How's your riding gears/helmet etc? I hope your ankles OK. Safe riding in future too.
10 out of 10 for the bike dude ! Hope ya heal up quick . Did you say 120k or MPH . Boy that is one Toasted R6 Sorry to see a bike in that way![]()
