Had a S4 and now have a Hornet. Hornet fits me much better (Shoei head?), vents way better and doesnt have a bloody annoying whistle. Semi cured the whistle but still annoying as hell.

I've never actually clapped eyes on an Airoh.
    I shall seek it out.

I too have a Shoei head (this perhaps should be a concern for one of us...).

You mean it's annoying for me since you no longer have it. I've breifly tried on cooneyr's shoei and would be looking at one very closely when the time comes for a replacement. Certainly more comfortable.

I can vouch fo the shoei /airoh head thing. tried both and they fit my oversized melon very well. The only other brand that seems ok is FFM. The sizez, e.g. xl vary so much between brands.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

I'm selling my Arai Tour-X helmet which has been great in every aspect for adv riding, but it's just a fraction too small for me, so I'm gonna get a larger one. More than happy with everything it does and doesn't seem to buffet much in the wind.

Thanks for the Airoh info, I will probably not follow that up now, seeing as a Hornet is $900 new here and I'm a tight arse has anyone fitted a peak to a road helmet?
My XR1000 does everything well except for provide shade into the sun so surely if I get a peak and use an adhesive to fix it on there can't be any degredation of the helmet shell....or am I missing something?

Try opening the visor on a helmet with that attached... Think the helmet in the photo is one where the chin bar lifts
IT'S JUST BETTER WHEN THERE'S TWINS INVOLVED..

Thanks for the ideas, I just had a play with the helmet and don't see a reasonable way of making it work and retaining an openable visor, the Andy strapz idea is ok but i quite often ride with visor open at speed so it wouldn't work for me......back to buying the real thing it seems.

Yup, the SuperVisor suits me. It's not overly large, doesn't catch the wind, can ride at highway speeds with visor up with minimal effect, and with visor open an inch or so for good ventilation with no effects. I commute into the sun in the morning, and into it AGAIN at the finish of work Mine is fitted to a Nolan 102 flip front helmet. Might look a bit dorky but it works well IMHO.
Sometimes you wish it was easier, but if it was, everyone else would do it, then you remember you don't want to be like everybody else!
