Even the Zeus has different sized cheek pads from the importer.

The Zeus is a road helmet with a peak.
For some people, that's all they want.

Exactly, I did, but found the sizing a bit odd; small too small, medium too big, like they were 1/2 a size out compared to most other brands I've had, (HJC, 661, Shoei, Arai, Bell and a cool old Malherbe rep MDS open face - wish I still had that one...)

Zeus does have a great visor though - agreed!

    Helmet sizing is a mystery.
In 2008 I found myself in Andorra with the opportunity to go riding.
All I needed was a helmet, but luckily Andorra has lots of accessory shops (big ones!).
Problem was, nothing fitted - the shop assistants muttered something about "..cap mes gran.." and hunted through their stock.
The weird thing was that I don't even have that large a head (size 58-60/XL).
The even weirder thing was that if I tried on the same helmets I had at home, in the same sizes, they were too small...

    I have 2 Zeus Helmets.
    No probs.
    They are a small fit,

I took a Medium MX helmet.
    KBC Road helmet.....Large
    Zues ADV........XL

As we know, most helmets have the same shell size for a given style.
The difference in sizing is usually due to the sponge padding thickness.

My 1st Zues was 'Large' but was way too tight especially with a balaclava.

I took out the pads, slit them open and trimmed approx 10mm in thickness from the sponge.

Also took a bit extra off to create a 'sunglasses groove'. (I bought my next Zues in XL.)

I have made Loose helmets fit tighter by adding thin panels of sponge. This is available from places like Spotlight.

As Kiwis, we should be clever enough and brave enough to customise our stuff, without having to resort to BUYING everything.

My XL Zeus cheek pads are far too thick. I removed about half the foam from them and it's bearable now.
Unfortunately they don't do thinner pads than XL...

So anybody with one of these helmets might want to keep a spare visor in stock.

Got the visors today, no dramas, just under 3 weeks to arrive. Top marks fc-moto.

Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon
