I still need to tighten my chain, but no biggie, might do it Thursday night. I'm super excited, mind keeps wandering during the week, it's cool to have something to look forward to just after work's started!
We have added an Extreme Trail to the event. It is by far the toughest trail we have ever had at an epic events ride. It will be tough in the dry and almost impossible if wet. The trail is only 4km long and is an option off the West trail. The trail involves a river crossing, rocky hill climb, rutty downhill, another hill climb and a roots and rocks section. It is a trail for mountain goats so we think it will provide serious challenges for top riders.
^ I'll be avoiding that bit like the plague!! But looking forward to some good hillclimbs, rock garden, and the mx track in the middle of nowhere (if those are back for this year?). Also I'm going to remember to bring two pairs of socks this year since getting them wet from river crossings on Saturday means frozen soggy feet on Sunday!

Gutted I'll not be back in time for this, especially as my old riding buddy is going and will no doubt rub it in big time when I see him next. Did it in '08, cracking ride, although surprised how cold it got during the night. Nothing a few warming whiskies can't take the edge off though.

    Enjoy!
