Getting packed up now. Looks like it will be a bit wet on friday night though!
My friend neets is in a real pickle. She is looking for a ticket to saturday or both days riding. Are there any tickets out there for sale
Sat has reached the 1000 biker quota.
She's normally mega organised but she'll be shouting beers for this one.

well! Roadtripdiva has just left here after showing me the best 1/2 week of my life! Shes heading for Dessert Storm on her little GN250. She is the tall, tanned smiling Canadian woman who will be looking after you noobs at sign in! treat her well and let her know that you are a KBer!
Rayne has just had a crash course in dirtbike riding, motorcycle maintainance, vindaloo curry making and DIY alfesco sanitation, so she should cope well with the rigours of desert storm!
If you are lucky enought to meet her down there- take the time to say hi. If she asks to ride your fourfiddy, let her! But make sure she shows you her Bruises. On wednesday she tackled the Neavesville track and came through muddy and bruised but still smiling smiling smiling!:

Got home late last night after a hard days ride on Saturday, a lot a water made it very wet in places but a lot of fun!
A very well run event, I even got to have a hot shower before heading home.
I'll be in for the whole weekend next year.
just got home now, what a weekend, the tracks were perfect, on saturday it was quite wet but still completely rideable and fun, and the sunday was even better, sunshine and drying tracks was a good way to cap off the weekend, i didnt get much helmet camera footage i think something in my camelbak pushed a button and stopped my helmet camera about 20mins in.(gutted) NO DUST EITHER!!

Just finished unpacking the trailer. What a weekend. Today was the best day with a bit of everthing. Dry at the bottom and sticky at the top especiially going back over yesterdays trails that had some good ruts. The expert sections were interesting ,good to see the young guys having to think about getting over rocks and stuff. First DS for us but already planning for next year.
I'm tired. Phew. Pics to follow! Day 1 was wet wet wet. Our tent leaked on friday night and we were treated to an evening of chinese water tourture. Drip, drip, drip... Main trail was MUDDY! Some nice bits, but a lot of it big muddy ruts that just swallowed my wee bike whole, would have been a nice easy trail without the mud, that was kind of tiring in the end. There were def still some good fun parts, just a real shame about the rain/mist since you couldn't see a lot of the awesome scenery, which is a big part of doing DS. How embarrassing walking it across the river with KBers watchingI was sweet on all the other ones, honest
My bike is so low and sounds like death whenever it gets wet, I'm just paranoid about drowning it, it throws hissy fits even when I take it through big puddles at the sandpit.
Day 2 was mint, so flowy and fast and cool, I was loving the berms and whoops. Unfortunately I lost my kickstarter in one of the expert sections (I didn't even come off or whack anything, it just dropped off at some point?) luckily we found it, but I had to do a bit of roll starting most of the 63k trail and krad very nicely push started it a few times, which can be pretty tiring work! The mx track in the middle of nowhere was shut sadly just when we got there due to some nasty broken bones and internal bleeding and what not. Due to the kickstart issue I didn't do the rock garden or any other expert bits after that since I was trying to not stop or stallThere's always next year! Saw quite a few chick riders out there this year which was pretty cool. The triple crown comps were pretty entertaining, and the meals were great as always. See you camp campers at tussock buster next then?
Definitely fantastic yesterday, tracks were awesome, perfect weather. Drowned the 200 on Saturday, really wasn't that cold in the river! I hate that when that happens! The calibre of rider in the competitions made them fantastic to watch! Thanks guys! Didn't see you Spiked Punch, darn! Wimped out on the camping, preferring the heated floors and clean toilets of the motor lodge in Ohakune - yeha!! Think I saw your friend Cave Weta, doing the marshalling? She was so friendly and cool!
It was a great weekend! Was fabulous seeing you again Midget 200 - and all your friends are such awesome people too! You guys all rock!
Saturday was definately pretty sloshy but still a lot of fun and Sunday was brilliant. I loved that 65km loop, such a good mix of terrain etc, didnt so much like the bit towards the end though with all the tree roots! Bring on Tussock Buster woohoo!
Sick day today, walkings a bit painful! Had a silly little low speed crash that should never have happened whilst sitting behind a slow mate on my last loop of the day yesterday. Lets just say I'm thanking my lucky stars as if the handlebars had got me 1cm further over, kids would be out of the question! Apart from that I managed to stay pretty safe, a couple of corner slide outs with the bike still running waiting to be picked up didn't hurt, but a crushed finger between the bars and a tree in 3rd gear whilst making a tight pass wasn't so comfortable!
Apart from that it was a brilliant weekend! Clocked up 280kms over the two days, drunk a fair bit of piss and had a good little Brazier campfire on the Saturday night!
Yesterday was definately the pick of the bunch weather and trail wise, couldn't have asked for more really. I did wonder why the MX track had been shut Spiked Punch (between my 1st and second laps) imagined it would be something along those lines unfortunately! And Saturday made for a bit of a challenge sliding through the tree's in top gear hoping it would all go to plan and the ruts left by others wouldn't drag you in. The Rock Section was pretty choice, I had totally the wrong bike for it and my clutch fingers weren't happy with me by the end but hopping through it was good fun. I was amazed at the age of some of the riders in there, what looked like 12 year olds on 85's giving it their all!
See you all next year for more of the same!
sat was the best day, i had heaps of traction and with a half worn tyre didnt really have an issue at all, the most fun was weaving through all the strandard bikes at good speed at the staircase and the other muddy hills, it was deffinatly easy to attack the slush by going fast as the momentum helped when you backed of the gas,
got sick of the hero's that go screaming along the road next to the car park and the ones who scream past you covering you in great big fuck off rocks, and i wasnt going slow either, 6th gear at 1/3 throttle.
sunday was good , a few to many road sections for my liking but the expert sections were awsome, 1 in particular was very tight and tecnical.
but very flowing at a fast pace, just wish it had rained on the sunday to make it a bit harder.
but all in all a good weekend for the majority.
