Uncle B, Gone but not forgotten

I can't believe it's been 3 years since that 'Black weekend'. I still remember what I was doing that day when Jim rung and told me....

I reckon he'd be proud at how much I have learnt and how much of a better rider I am now compared to when he was mentoring me!

RIP mate, I still think about you all the time!

Yep, I had quite a few KBers over at my place for a BBQ on the Sat when we found out about LB & DSS. Never seen so many "loud" people go so quiet.

The news about Uncle B on the Sunday was almost too much to cope with...

Yeah - 3 years.. Wow how things have changed as time moves on.

My thoughts are really with Debbie today, and the mess that she has managed to get herself through, as she moves on with her life.

Bruce was such a huge loss to us all, and I'm sure there will be a few people out there tonight having a beer, smoke, and a slab of chocolate to remember the big guy. As I'm absolutely sure thats what he would have wanted..

I never met Bruce, Bruce or Darryl... but I do remember that dark weekend.

I was with my family at the duck pond just last weekend. Had a sit on the seat, a bit of a remember.

    Not forgotten at all.

I never used to ride with Uncle B's other riding mates. If I went for a ride with Bruce it was him and me. The only times my R6 got used the way it was supposed to be was with Bruce. He inspired confidence and he went the extra mile for mates when they needed it. He wasn't perfect, but that just made him more human.

I'll certainly be letting one rip, in true Bruce fashion tonight. My wife will understand.

    Continue to RIP bro.

Wow...3 years. Definitely not forgotten. I still remember his cheeky smile and the way he used to tease me on my FXR, the way he used to teach the art of riding so well and the cofidence he inspired in the riders around him. RIP Uncle B.

    3 Years.
I was thinking about Bruce on the weekend as I was going over the hill on Sunday. I was really concentrating on being smooth, smooth as I could & Uncle B popped into my head.
    Not forgotten.

I was at school camp yesterday in Rotorua (mountain bike camp). I saw a chap wearing a KB t shirt, got chatting as you do...the bike he was loading in his car was Uncle B's old one.
We shared a laugh or two and a memory of Uncle B...
