    Sunday 22nd November - Taranaki

Sunday morning coffee at The Valley

Mission Bay is a little out of the way for a Sunday coffee so we'll have to make do with The Valley complex at Waiwakaiho.

There are only 200 or so parking spaces within easy walking distance of the coffee place and Subway so latecomers may have to double up on parking spaces. Don't use the Disability designated parks (unless you are registered to do so) as this is illegal and will cost us Brownie points with the public
The aim is to demonstrate to the public the congestion that we would be causing if motorcycles are priced off the road by ACC.

Food and coffee places open at 7.00 and 7.30 respectively but as Briscoes and Rebel Sports are the first shops to open at 9.00 I plan on getting there around 8.30 for a leisurely coffee. Any cars there at that time can be replaced by bikes as they vacate parks. Probably hang around until the remaining shops open at 10.00.

The press that gave us the positive exposure of the Naki Bikeoi have been invited to drop in for a coffee with us.

See calender posting to register your attendance.

    See you there

Aye mate count us in .... will try and get a few others their too. The protest ride to the old beehive was a real eye opener to me and Lanky to how much support from the general public was demonstrated both by the number of cars moving over for us and the huge number that turned up on the sides of the roads to wave and cheer. Like the idea of this starting early so not to upset to many of the retailers at the center and the general public support we need but still have the issue keep alive in the public eye.

I have emailed Cooks Honda,to send out the details to all his riders, and passed on a message to a Club X member to mention it at their thursday night meeting tonight.
I start back at work tomorrow,so will be able to catch up with a few more bikers then.

    LETS MAKE IT BIG.

Any chance of getting this tread moved onto the home page so it gets a better chance of being noticed?

The ACC levy campaign area has pretty much become the one-stop-shop for protests so probably the best place for this I thought.

I thought it would be a good idea to have this on the Events Calender (I see Hawkes Bay have, and also KB'ers can then register) and also under Meetings and Events.

Just a thought, may help gain some more numbers if people overlook this thread.

I must say though that a number of riders are talking about this already...

Could be worth asking Craig at Energy to put it out over his Pie n Pint email contacts like Cook's have?

Flyers will be trickling off my printer tomorrow, I'll bring them along on the day. In case I'm late, I'll have a flat white and a cinnamon bun please.

    Handout Flyer

This is the flyer we intend to use to explain the point of our protest to those cars excluded from the carpark on Sunday. Please feel free to print a few off and bring them along with you.

A4 size at present but either print at 2 per page scaled to 71% for A5's or hopefully somebody better at graphics will be along soon to sort it for me

See Bogan's post below for 2 per A4 page version

Thanks. We had 400 bikers come out of the woodwork for the Naki Bikeoi on a Tuesday afternoon and the word is definitely out for this one so hopeful of a good turnout. 50 or 60 will have an impact in the area we are targeting, more than that should be attainable and would be great

I spoke to Gordon Brown from the Daily News yesterday, and our invite for a coffee has been accepted, a reporter will definitely be there (and the paparazzi, of course)

See you all tomorrow at the Valley.
