    Is it an ominous sign…

When you get to work at 11:00 in the morning, turn in to the bike park, and no one else is there when there are normally another 6 bikes….

Or maybe they checked the weather forecast.

Now I'm sat at work looking out of the window wondering why I didn't do the same and not looking forward to the ride home over the bridge in an hour.

Yet it is days like today when the weather is so crap that you almost think it might be a good idea to wrap yourself up in a dirty lil cage.
yet it is also days like today when the weather is soo crappy that everyone is drving like a freakn toss pot and the mway is blocked from bombay to orewa.
And my ride home is one of the more enjoyable as a I filter my way through the car park that people in cars call a motorway - rain or not I dont wanna be a stuck in a car for hours.

Yeah but when you get home you will have accomplished something and not just travelled.

It was still pissing down with rain on the way home, a taxi was in the lane to my right, decided to over take, cut in front of me with inches to spare then moved over to the left lane. I was going to follow him and politely let him know his indicators must be broken because they didn't come on once. Then I remembered that no taxi's have working indicators.

Then heading over the bridge one of the big gantry signs had a caution about surface water. Oh great I thought, as a Hilux was gained on me real fast then sat just off my rear, never mind I just kept focused on the road surface and what was going on in front of me with a quick check behind every now and then. Then on one check he was miles behind me, nice big gap. Might have had something to do with the police car that came and sat right behind him that made him think twice!

Pull up at home, chain the bike down and walk in to the house with a grin on my face. I hate riding in the rain but not as much as I hate public transport or sitting in a car for hours going nowhere.

Bit like drifting becalmed in the middle of lyttleton harbour in an international moth thinking its a beautiful day....why is there no one else on the water?

Then noticing big black clouds scudding over Geddes pass straight towards you:slap: I should have checked the waether first huh?
