Haha, yep I got wetter than ever before today coming home from work. The traffic down Hobsonville road came to a standstill in the narrow section where they are working on the new motorway - no room to split so basically stopped in the pouring rain. Had to wring out my gloves when I got home.

I have to agree with this. In fact I so often preferred to ride rather than drive even (especially) in wet weather that I put less than 1000ks on the car in a year and sold it rather than register it. Now I don't own a car and I don't miss it at all. Riding is better no matter what the weather!

Wow, that's some low mileage going on a car. I would sell the car cause I never use it but Mrs GOONR reckons it's handy for carting around midget GOONR, shopping and stuff like that.

Yeah, but I rode over 20,000ks in the same year.

A bit off thread, sorry. I always feel nervous having to ride in the rain, especially in the city but once I get on the bike I love it. It seems to make me concentrate a tad more & ride better which is a good feeling. Not really any slower either. I must admit to being a wuss now but I have spent years riding in the worst weather that Scotland & northern England could throw at me.

Same, the thought of riding in the rain is quite often (for me) worse than actually riding in it. I do go a lot slower round corners and stuff but I haven't been riding that long so I guess I'm over cautious. Would sooner be cautious than on my arse.
