    Hampton Downs from the air

    Was flying over the Downs a week or so ago and took some pix - looks cool from up here - just needs a strip to land on.

    i've had a very close look at meremere but it looks like it could be a bit tricky. hills, walls are close, first 100m is unuseable, and if the wind was coming over the hill it would be interesting. the back straight looks heaps better

    The back straight should be good for most GA aircraft once its done.

    It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

    the back straight is plenty long enough right now

    i'm thinking about asking for a test approach and landing.....

    Given all the space they have had it isn't exactly the most interesting layout is it? Even having little kinks in the straights as you can see on the main page here would have made it a little more interesting.
