In regards to the weather, wet riding around twisties aint my idea of fun.

That said it could all clear up before then.

How about someone with a bit more computor nouse post a voting thingie between saturday and sunday for this ride.

Bit of friendly advice from another 2fiddy rider: stick to the backroads as much as possible. The number of patrolling is inversely proportional to the State Highway's number — i.e. S.H.1 = lots, S.H.25 = not quite as many. Don't ask me how I discovered this.

You may want to alter your route somewhat and take the Hunuas back from Mangatawhiri to Drury. The roads are more interesting than the motorway anyway. Something like this...

Also, for those who haven't done Kawakawa Bay to Kaiaua before, there are some gnarly corners in there that aren't sign posted, so take your time.

Mike - good and sensible sounds good to me, i dont have money to be throwing away on speeding fines (or unnessecary bike repairs.)

Didjit - You definitly have a point there mate, did it for the first time 2 weekends ago and some of those corners seem to turn back on themselves, but its still a great road to just putt along on and enjoy the scenery.

A bit of fear never hurt anyone! Try riding in the rain, all you have to do is be a bit smoother with the throttle and don't go riding like a wannabe chipmunk, oh I mean Rossi.
Its like all things, once you've got the hang of it you'll be sweet as! Practice makes perfect and all that blah...

    What about this

And about the rain, I'll ride in it, I just don't have any wet weather gear so I'll be soaked after 20 minutes... soo don't want to do that again till I have some better suited gear.

Trust me, even when you do get wet weather gear you'll still get soaking wet!

If you learn to 'ride to the conditions' ANY conditions on any road then you'll be sweet as in the rain. Better to learn how to ride well in the shit weather when your still a noob on a smaller bike. You can never have too much experience when riding a motorbike, trust me!!

There'll be some folks who've done those roads before.

Aye that be me! And I do recognise that zxr being wanting for a new chain and sprockets!

Yep, no probs, I cut my teeth on the group 250 rides ... great opportunity to meet new peeps and to sensibly gather skills and ride to new places! So, I have no problem with helping out. Shucks, my lil'ol'hornet really wants to come out and play with other chewfiddies again!
