My completely stock Super Sherpa is lighter than your completely stock DR, KLR or 640.
And is more orange than the DR or the KLR.

Kawasaki knew what they were doing when they made the sherpa

they were clearing out the parts bin

My stock 690 is more orange and black than your 525, is heavier, has a little more power.
KTM knew roughly what they were doing when they made the 690.

I'd like a 690. If I had to have just one bike the 690 would be it I thinks.

And here it is farkled as much as its likely to be.
Adventureised with luggage, with enough room behind the rear bag for a 5l fuel can, giving me a range of about 300+ km before I hit reserve.

Well, did a little playing in the garage..

I put some EGO bars on yesterday, because the old Suzuki levers are really big with giant knobs on the end, I had to put a spacer on the ends of the bar. Just so happens that the axle alloy spacers fit perfectly and are a nice gold colour too!
I can keep the giant knobs....
Not much room for error though as the Decomp lever takes all the room up on the left side.

I also hard wired the Ipod.... Lots of music now and always on charge.
This means I can listen to music when I stop and camp for the night and on the road too...
I have a good position for it when cruising, just sits on the tank. I do have to plug and un plug it in the 12V socket though otherwise the battery will go flat. The GPS is different as when it is turned off, it is off.
The Belkin has a little light on the end when plugged in, so will drain the battery.
All in all a good easy farkle...

Plus, the Heidenau tyres will be fitted next week on my new DR rear rim. Had this laced and it will be fitted along with new chain and sprockets...

    Yes, it was a consideration...

But, I wanted to keep my big balls, it added to the authenticity..
They are old levers, replacing them might be difficult...All sorted now, no touching on the EGO's and after a bit of clutch cable adjustement, all is good. When I got home from the mechanic, I had no neutral....He said, 'your cable needs adjusting' so he did.....so much so, I could change gear just waving my hand over the lever, but when I got home, the neutral was not to be felt anywhere. So, I put it back to where it was and all is hunky dory!

Yep he should. Haven't seen anything from the South Island invasion yet.

Although I think the last vid he posted up was from a ride in 2008 so I suspect he's running a bit behind.
