AKL 250cc group ride this Saturday (16 Jan)

Hi all, there's a bunch of us nubs who are keen for a nice, relaxed group ride around the more scenic parts of East and South Auckland.

So, let's meet at BP in Botany, proceed to Whitford, then Maraetai, then Clevedon, then Hunua, then Papakura and then all the way out to the tip of the Manukau heads (Wattle Bay). That'll take about 90-120 minutes one way with a return to the southern motorway of 60 minutes.

Yeah, a big ride but it's firckin' cool. Of course, if the consensus is that this is too long then we can mix it up.

The ride is open to all but as it's mostly for 250cc riders you may find it slow going.

It's not a race and we'll be going no faster than the speed limit at any time.

So, 10am at Botany BP ready to leave at 10:15am. I'll be there at 10am with my cell so you can call me on 021-514-085 if you need to cancel or are running a couple of minutes late.

Here's the route map, I've had to make it into two separate paths because Google doesn't know the fun, direct way from Clevedon to Hunua

Yeah, we could stop at Maraetai (@ 20 mins) and definitely at Wattle Bay (@ ~90 minutes), a stop at each coast.

I think these rides are a great idea and I'll be very keen to come along once I get my restricted and not limited to 70kph. Hope you all have a great ride today

Thanks for the ride today guys. A bit over 200KMs by my speedo. Good roads, good fellas and only 2 demonstrations of unbelievable stupidity from cagers.
