How do you get more interest when your trying to sell?

i was thinking of ways to sell trademe seems good but not the best. I was wondering has anyone gone to a shopping mall or anything and tried to sell there bike? or put a for sale sign on it in a uni carpark or summin? just trying to find ways to create more serious interest

    Trademe

Trademe worked for me but it probably depends on what is being sold. I sold my 1988 GB400 (one owner) on TM and there was a reasonable amount of interest. The buyer was from Dunedin (me Chch) and so gets the message out.

If you don't care about when it sells, just put a sign on it and ride around a lot.

Yeah, go with both trademe and a sign on the bike, the sign is good as people who just see you parked up or who are following you KNOW the vehicle is available. Rides like toy runs/ westpac are also good for exposure but don't think there are any big ones happening until next year...

danniel I'm sorry dude the issue is that you are selling an unknown brand that is unfortunately tarred with the same brush as all the other stuff from china -ie its seen as being rubbish

...and with all the ACC levy increases, better economy, oversupply of learner bikes from last years summer of sales, demand for bikes is not what it used to be (i.e things are different from same time last year).

I'd suggest you bite the bullet and lower your price if you really need to sell immediately.

$1 reserve on trademe will show you what it is worth. I reckon you will get $1500.

Put lots of keywords in the body of the message so that when they search they will find your item. Works every time.

My mate and I do it when we sell cars and crap on TM.

If you do a classified listing on TM put a $0 asking price and it will go to the top of the list when searching by lowest price and in the body of the text state how much you want for it.

    Here is what I mean:

    http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=256644242

Also put the word "unwanted" and "gift" and you'll be surprised at how many people will look at it.

Have you tried Tardme or just assume that it won't sell that way?
